Smashed my car!!!

Postby naz0 » June 13th, 2008, 6:05 pm

Well yeh i smashed my car cut a long story short, went around the corner, was a bit wet, fish tailed for a bit, over corrected, went up the gutter, tried to bring it around and just kicked around and went straight in the side of a truck, it was a tipper. I hit the 2 rear wheels and caused 3K worth of damage, it moved the diff of the truck 3.5" across. As for my car well heres the photos.

I got no insurance ether so its all out of my pocket :( :(

not to sure if its a ride off or if it is fixable but there is a crease in the in the main body as u can see in the photo.....

that will teach you to not have insurance. tuff luck, truck parts arent cheap. as long as you havent bent the rails on the ED then its a pretty easy fix that one.

I rate having insurance, it's way too fucking risky not too.
And man it's cheap as faaaark.
3rd party on my ED was like 120 bucks for a year, thats 10 a month.

Thats bad. I know what its like to to have no insurance as i hit a power pole a few years back. At least the damage is not that bad or that much to fix. Everyone has a bad day from time to time.

Pat , trust me when I say that it just ain't worth it man, for how much 3rd party costs.
You never know what the fcks gonna happen.
All it takes is hitting something seriously expensive, like a powerpole, or a beemer, or a fcken house, and you are gonna screw yourself for years to come.
You might say fck it, I can get out of that cause I've got no assets, but I know knts that have "gotten out of" debts, and yeah, they get out of it for awhile, but they cannot have sht in their name.

New parts needed
-radiator support
-Tie rail
-Headlight panels (maybe fixable...)

The rest is obvious...Is the aircon core damaged? Radiator leaking?

The rest (bonnet, gaurds) look around and get some cheap, same with lights and the bar. Just get a shop to straighten the passanger side skirt, and replace the rad support/tie rail/headlamp panels. Then bolt some 2nd parts on yourself

Agreed! So many people think they're good drivers out there but it only takes about 2 seconds of carelessness and bang you got a accident...it happened to me. But you never know you could get lucky and never have an accident at all.

Not good. I agree with the others that at least 3rd party property is handy to have. Even if you went through your life without hitting someone, it would be good to know that if you did, at least they'd be covered. It's saved my arse a couple of times. The excess was the only killer. Looks like you'd have your work cut out to fix that. Radiator support will need replacing, and the chassis rails will be the real worry.

Yeah at least 3rd party is a biggun, not worthing insuring ea eb or ed's for full comp these days as they can be had pretty cheap.

Some people like to learn the hard way, i wish we had rules like the uk where Insurance is compulsory on all vehicles!
