4LEDBOY the display shows ,1,2,3 when in tiptronic mode, and1,2,3,4 or d when in drive if commando`s is same as mine.
oop`s had to edit it also show`s, p,r,n,

As per TAXI's post.

TAXI I think your idea (hack the BA housing) is a bit better than mine (hack the trans tunnel!) because at least yours is more easily reversible! I had a quick look on fastfords but couldn't find any more pics mate. Get a few more screws into the housing to hold it firm ;) Even riveting some square-edge brackets into the trans tunnel & screwing through the brackets into the housing may work :)

Hey guys , iv given up on the idea of the BA shifter for the moment , so i went out and bought a shifter knob today so here it is..

Does it screw in to the BTR shaft?

hehe why is that all males laugh at stupid words like that lol , and nah it didnt screw on it just slid over it , i had to use a key thing and screw in some lil plastic screws but thats all ,

I wanted something new and aftermarket , id rather something like the BA shifter but ya carnt just slide one on and screw it up. So this will do for now.

fukn BA shifters....who nos how to get the nob off a manual BA shifter???
its pissn me off...

an dont say "it unscrews"...coz mine dusnt!
who ever can get it off, can have it

i was always a fan of the XF's Big Orane Button an the bent style shifter to the point where i mounted 1 in my cortina
to replace the old dodgey XC style shifter it had.....

BA knobs do just unscrew, you just need to man up and twist it until it comes off...

make sure you hold the small metal dish like object that is directly under the knob.

then just TWIST like there is no tomorrow...
So much RAM the motherboard twisted off the POST.

I lost 3 cylinders... but gained a turbo...

Go out and try and get a new FG gear knob , its not too much different from the BA shifter.
