Maybe Spring/Autumn if biannual? To get around the fire bans and to avoid cold nights.

Then again, wagons keep ya warm ;) (you reading this Kester?)

Well, what a prick of a drive back. The alternator's dead. The battery light came on at Trafalgar, but I managed to get to about Pakenham before it gave up completely. I then waited over an hour and a half for the tow truck. While it was on the towtruck some prick egged it (middle of the windscreen). After leaving Maffra at 7.00, I got home about midnight. Mark had fun too. He had a retread on the trailer seperate from the rest of the tyre, so he had to drive back at 70kph, as it vibrated the hell out of the car. Commodore stud pattern + no spare + Sunday arvo = great fun.

This year was better than last year I thought. More entertainment by everyone especially explosives LOL. We are a bunch of Pyromaniacs :D
That first butane was awesome and it helped the fire burn better too, not sure about how the chairs felt about it tho.
The trip to Licola was enjoyable but the mono bikes were complete morons. I had to almost stop coz I had no idea what they were gonna do and I don't think they did either
The dirt drifting was very fun and addictive but I don't think I will be doing it next year as we were threatened to have our cars impounded.
Overall it was a great weekend and sensational turn out with plenty of fun and laughs
Thanks to Steve (Rmyres), John, and all others who organised this fantastic weekend and to those that come and made it happen. Also thanks to Commando for the hire of his shelter for the table, stove.
I am not even going to mention the trip home. It was a nightmare. :(

Sucks about the Commodore stud pattern :( Even John wouldn't have been able to help you because he's got e-series rims on his trailer.

Dezza - told ya it was the alternator! Was it a free RACV tow? (Pakenham to Clayton on a Sunday night would've sucked if you were paying...)

Yeah, I could tell all weekend it wasn't long for this world, but I at least hoped it would get me back home. It was an RACV tow. The first 20kph were free, but the next lot were only about $3.20/km anyway so it ended up costing me about $70. If it had been towed by a private mob, I would have been up for hundreds

$70

You should've just gotten them to charge up the battery... if it lasted from Traf to Pakenham it would've lasted from Pakenham to Clayton with a charge up :D

It did seem to get considerably worse at the end so I reckon between Traf and Pakenham it was still providing some charge, but it died completely at the end. Ah well, it's home so that's a positive.

what you should've done was got the alternator thats bolted to the MPFI 4L in my shed. for cashola. It also has relatively new belts hanging off it. :P

Was an awesome weekend away yet again. I think 08 topped off 07 GM.

Highlights: Fire, drifts, Sheep suicide (one jumped off the edge of a cliff!) and the rest. We were very lucky the weather held up.

RIP pink piggy :( Was amusing seeing the puff of fluff from it after the explosion

Thanks to all who came and made the weekend good fun, was an awesome group to spend the weekend with :)
