Sux to hear Ev. I've only been in IT support for a li'l while and just doing contracts at the mo. There's like 20 recruitment agencies in Brisbane alone that do IT, so no shortage of work.

Sounds like you've been mismanaged. I've heard stories like yours and you're better off not being there if they'll treat you like that. Just gotta find somewhere decent.

But good luck if you go for an apprenticeship.

Thanks heaps guys, much appreciated. Bill is actually 100% correct. The only person who liked me was the guy who hired me locally, but the company (and IT department especially) is managed from America, so it was easy for them to just flick me. I was only half way through probation, so no skin off their nose. I have been jumping from IT job to job since 2006. Although a lot of them were contract, I have never been able to stay at one place for more than 12 months. So I figured, no point keeping it going. I guess I am just not white collar material! So fvck it, why not give something else a try! I even applied for an owner/driver courier job, and the guy called me back, but as soon as I said V8, he was like ‘yeah, good luck with that!’. Said I would only make like $350 a week after expenses.
So, yeah, I have applied for a shit kicking car handler/washer job at a Ford dealer, and have also got my best mate putting in a word for me for the apprenticeship. He said cos I am over 25, I could be getting up to $30 an hour. Sounds pretty good for a 1st year!
Plus, I am just over people and office bullshit. Every place I have left because I end up having to keep one eye over my shoulder before I open my mouth. Office politics ftl, I am just too straight and upfront for that shize.

Well, seeing as I am still an uneployed bum with nothing better to do, and the Red Barron had its one wash for the year for AFD, I figured I'd drive over to my photo spot and take a few snaps. It's still as clean as it's been in months! Plus, I did a tidy of the engine bay, and sprayed the intake pipes on the blower. I used that VHT High Temp spray can paint, more cos I like the look. Makes them look like steam pipe or bbq plate or something! I am even thinking, depending on motivation, of taking the blower itself off, masking it up and giving it a hit with the same stuff. Good idea? Can anyone think of any reason why I shouldn't? Anyway, pics.

Thanks man. I do contemplate buying wheels for it whenever decent ones come up. Then I think of everything else the money could be better spent on, like a new clutch or put towards a TKO/T56. Plus, it would ruin the inconspicuous look that I like so much. Double plus, the bigger the wheels, the more expensive the tyres!

Yep, I have been sending out the resume. Had a few interviews. Plus, I have decided I am not desperate to take a shit kicking job at a car yard yet, it's only been two weeks. I actually got offered one at City Ford, but turned it down cos it was only for $17.50 an hour before tax! Unfortunately I'm not 19 living at home anymore, so that is not enough to live off. I'm going to stick with IT type work, no point wasting all my experience.

yeah but if u get some factory ford style wheel (bf 18's would look good) then it will still look stockish.

There are only three sets of wheels that I would ever put on this car, two of which have been mentioned. AU Rebels, Persuit 250s, or BF MkII XR options preferably the ones with the black. But as I said, wheels are very low on the list. Driveline is where it’s at for this thing. A new clutch will most likely be the next purchase.

So I have pretty much decided what I am going to do job wise now, and it aint automotive related. There are too many reasons against it, in particular the money is terrible! I am too used to earning IT money to turn back now! Plus, too many people tell me it will end in me hating my car as a hobbie, and I don't want that to happen. Which is why I interviewed last week for an Audio Visual Tech job, which I really hope I get. I also got through to an interview this week for another IT support job, but in a government department! If all that fails, then I will get back into IT Contracting again. I figured any of these outcomes should allow me to not have to sell this thing. I really feel like I have finally found a keeper, even despite being an AU!

So on the car front, if/when I get another job, the next purchase will be a new clutch. Although it's not actually slipping, it does have heaps of shudder, especially in traffic, which make it feel crap to drive. I might also do sway bars at the same time, to tighten it up a bit. Once that is done, the next stupid unnecessary mod I am considering doing is a water/meth injection kit. I would love to do a front mount instead, just cos the wank factor is so much higher!

The water/meth will give the same, if not better, outcome for much, much less piss farting around!

Another rash purchase from good old ebay. Picked them up from a bloke up near Seymor who wrecks Fords. Came out of a series 3 Fairlane Ghia. They aren't in the best condition, they were filthy as hell. Took me a good half an hour per seat to clean them up. I ain't complaining though, especially as I got them for all of $200!! He even threw the door trims and silver handles in as well! Probably not going to put the trims on though, for a couple of reasons. They are in pretty bad condition, plus the wood grain spears will clash with the rest of my blue/black interior. Oh, and the drivers seat is electric, and the loom was already there! Bonus!

Should of swapped you my short shifter before I sold mine!!

So, boredom got the better of me today. To cure this, I decided to drive up to Heathcote for the afternoon and chucked this thing into the burnout comp they were running today! I must say, it's a hell of a lot harder than it looks. My mistake was to do no prep to the car other than put stockies on it. This is all well and good on the street, but that concrete pad thick with rubber was waaay too sticky for me. I couldn't get second gear to spin, it just bogged down. Plus not clamping off the rear brakes didn't help at all either. I kept at it though, and managed to get away with three runs, and drove home fine! Though I did stop as soon as the temp reached the red each time. The clutch is much worse for ware, and I boiled the shit out of my brake fluid, but that's about it. Plus, one of the officials said that if the comp was for most doughnuts, I would have won hands down! That's about the only thing I could do, but it was still mad fun! I literally made myself disy! :sick:

Yeah, so, sif I was going to get away with doing skids like that and not killing this thing!! :banghead:

Turns out I managed to completely destroy the internal belt inside the supercharger! I found the remnants of it all over my air filer and surrounding area. What a stupid son of a bitch I am, serves me right, fml! Tim at Raptor said there is a chance it could be ok, but knowing my luck I’ve completely killed it. Most likely cause is water getting in there, but also over heating from epic revs and doughnuts.

So yeah, project for this weekend is to revert this thing back to NA, so I can send the blower back up to Tim for diagnosis. :cry:

You'll be fine mate, it's not the end of the world! I'd suggest heaps of limiter bashing / sudden rev changes from clutch dumps killed it, doubt it got water in it?

Get him to put a good belt in it, I rebuilt my Powerdyne with a kevlar belt and quality bearings and it's copped a fair amount of thrashing with no issues in over 2 years.

Oh, I'm sure I got water in it, now that I think about it. I did hit the front of the car pretty hard with a big hose they had next to the burout pad after each skid, in an attempt to cool it down. I also sprayed the power steering pump, which is right next to the blower. :banghead:

Also, I have a feeling the belt must have gone pretty early on in the day, like half way through my first skid, cos I should have been able to keep 2nd gear spinning if it was running!

So yeah, just finished putting the car back to it's former 150rwkW of NA glory! :-(

I am going to wrap the blower up and send it back to Tim, hopefully it's just a belt replacement. I'll ask him if he offeres kevlar belts or whatever once he has had a look at it. The only thing I need to do now is stop myself from chopping it in for a XR6T!

Back on the boost train bitches!!

Got the blower back, kindly repaired under warranty by Tim at Raptor, good as new! Turns out was just a belt, too many revs, skid pan was a bad call. Anyway, I'm loving it again! I'm running some terrible cheap tyres cos I killed my good Toyos, so I'm getting roll-ons in 2nd now!! :cool:

Plus, I landed a contract job last week, so now I have a form of income too. I'm still looking for something more solid, but at least it means I don't exactly need to sell this thing now. I'd still consider it if someone threw me a decent offer, but that probably won't happen anyway.

How was it my fault? It was installed and running exactly as per his instructions, and I'm pretty sure I blew on my first burnout, before I sprayed the front with water. I explained the exact situation to Tim before I even sent it away, and he said he wouldn't know if it was a warranty repair till he pulled it appart. I was expecting the worst, but I got the good news after he'd repaired and shipped it. Tim also has a 'high-performance' cooling system for it, which I will grab off him when I have some spair cash. I'm also thinking of doing a fmic, though that's probably not going to help this from happening again.

Thanks for hooking me up misk, haven't fitted them yet though. Wen't too a couple of places, no one wanted to fit the 215's so I got rid of em. Still got the 235's, but I also ended scoring a full set of BA 17" wheels off a mate, crappy tyres but lots of meat. So I'm running those until I have the cash to get some new Toyos.

I thought I killed it too, being the pessimist that I am, but turned out to just be the belt. Tim is an awesome bloke still, and was great of him to not even question me. He actually made the comment that they aren't built just to drive to the shops! Anyways, I'm still going to get a better cooling unit off him, and maybe an fmic as well. I would like to do water/meth, but it seems pretty tricky to install.

Yep, I'm glad too, I don't want to sell it. Especially now that I have boost again, I forgot how awesome it is!! Went and got some oil and spark plugs today, and smiled all the way home! Sliding 2nd is mint! The clutch is on the verge of slipping though, so I'll start looking for something.
Oh, and I did something a bit silly yesterday, kinda shit myself. I took the intake pipe with the bov off and put the stocker on, cos I wanted to see if it would dose. :banghead:

All it did was back fire and stall. Thank Christ I only got around the corner, so I just walked home and got the stuff. Don't think I did any damage, still feels fine.

You're a funny guy Hus! I've said it before, it's actually not that bad with the blower unless I boot it, which is only always! Better on cruise on the freeway. How is your fuel economy? I assume pretty good in Pat's shed!
