Some funny comments in here boys!
If I hadn't been able to 'sample' music, then the artists I've seen and paid for live, bought their CDs, and merchandise would still be undiscovered and unknown to me. I've paid from $13-$135 to go to live gigs/concerts (nearly triple that for festivals) and spent from $3-40 on single CDs. Not to mention my friends who I share new discoveries with (and vice versa) who also do the same, granted one doesn't buy CDs/DVDs but regularly pays to go to gigs and buy merchandise from these artists. There's a shit load of music I listen to but can't find the CDs in shops. Same goes for movies; I have 100/200 original DVDs and at least that in original CDs.
And seriously, how much are artists getting when I buy their CDs for $9.99 at JB or $3 from eBay?
JJJ is the only station that seems to uncover new music and local talent; but even then it's just the tip of the ice berg.
And lol to 'mp3 sounding shit'. Of course 128kBit MP3s sound shit on your crappy computer speakers and running off a generic onboard soundcard or a car set up with standard Pioneer speakers and no soundstage. I guarantee most kents that say that couldn't tell the difference in listening to MP3s (192+kBit) on a decent PC with a quality soundcard and Sennheiser/RE2 earphones.
