It's amazing how far aussie utes have come in 8 years. Nothing is even comparable to the XR8 at all. Sad really.

yeah well i really dont like the boss motors , so pursuit/xr8 really never came into it.
but i was thinking of a ba pursuit with a LS2 motor in it. now id drive that!

something about the rear tail-lights being far too big, and the rear bumper being too busy; too over the top and crowded... Just my
opinion though, LS motor will ensure it goes like a cut snake with very little mods. Pity the 'boss' motors cant keep up...

lol, funny that i posted in your other thread about my mate not being able to get a VZ and ending up getting a VE, then you end up doing the same thing. VZ Maloos are officially cursed.
as previously stated, i like them, the rear could be improved with a "1" instead of a "0" but thats about it

I was at a small HSV award dinner earlier in the year (cause I'm a sikkunt HSV 'specialist') and I was telling some sales manager from another dealership I thought the E2 looked like shit (tactfully...sort of...haha). Some guy further down the table that I knew I'd met before but couldn't place overheard me and asked me why I didn't like them.

I told him that I thought the front was a result of a bunch of blokes in a room with one saying "OK fellas, we need a new front end, which cars look good?", then some other blokes would have said "Bonnet vents like the XC Falcons" "Sick LEDs like Audi has" "Heaps of driving/fog lights" etc, and then instead of picking a theme they just put them all on together and the result was far less than the sum of its parts, and that I much preferred the cleaner more 'elegant' (well, less shit anyway) look of the VZ HSVs. Also mentioned that the lack of rear vision in the Maloo is a proper joke.

Turns out he was the General Manager of HSV, and sitting beside him listening intently was the HSV Product Planner. My bad

Just BTW this whole HSV 'E-Series' business pisses me off too. They are a fucken VE. V you bastards!!! Now it makes US look tryhard whenever we call our cars 'E-series'.

SLOLS1 - I'd go a VZ over a VE anyday, archaic IRS design notwithstanding.

I prefer the back of the SS too Max, its like they just went overboard on the HSV's. Fronts look tough, rear and cover, fail.

LOL, That's me in the AU!! I found out after the run that SS Ute had OTR + MAFless tune + Exhaust + Cam! I had a dodgy, rust filled, weld patched 3" single system, and a 4wd Systems Lokka.....

Dylan, SS Tailgate! I hate the Maloo tailgate garnish, it looks tacky IMHO.

How did I know this would happen!! :( Nice motor and all, but damn its ugly. I don't care, I am sticking to my statement, they are a terrible looking car. You see, this is what happens when you do something like I would and can't wait! You should have tried harder, or held out a little longer for a VZ. Ah well, at least it sounds good, and should go alright. That, and you don't have to look at it while you are driving it!!

P.S. Rollin for PM!! :write: That shit is perfect, I couldn't agree more!

I have to say it does look tough on the road. While I am very much a Ford fan, at least HSV make an effort to separate their cars from the regular Commodore range. Take a look at the FPV Super Pursuit for example. It looks like an XR8 with warpaint on the front and different badges on the back. The Maloo on the other hand, doesn't look much like an SS. Good buy there Dylan!

Take a look at the FPV Super Pursuit for example. It looks like an XR8 with warpaint on the front and different badges on the back. The Maloo on the other hand, doesn't look much like an SS. Good buy there Dylan!

i reckon thats because ford has to worry about everything internationally holden just worries about australia they are known as different things overseas but it all comes down to holden has more money to spend than ford australia, i feel rollins pain i work for holden too :( but im never out of work HAHAHA

Rollin wrote:I was at a small HSV award dinner earlier in the year (cause I'm a sikkunt HSV 'specialist') and I was telling some sales manager from another dealership I thought the E2 looked like shit (tactfully...sort of...haha).

BRB, going to take my medication or have a cold shower or something :|

agree fully with you bout the E2 looking shit(although i dont mind the VE2 senators.plain bonnet. they look ok) and the vision is so poor its not funny.
and if you hate them (holdens) soo much leave and work at ford! im sure that would be a dream job, never have to work on shit boxes ever again.

lol dude ford e series are not the greatest things in the world i hate to tell you.you always talk like there the best and everything else is shit.

If theres one thing dunno if you noticed... but vz utes all have **** all room in the cabin and behind the seats... the VE is waaaayyy bigger inside... so from a ute interior perspective the ve sorta wins.

Id love to join the ve ute team but gots no $$$ maybe start of next year when the 2010 ones are run out and the VE 2 is out.. atm id be loving a Pontiac front SSV in poison ivy :)

No way man!! this is one car i will keep sorta stock.most valuable car ive owned to date, dont wana fuk with it so it loses value.

ClassicAU wrote:How did I know this would happen!!

:write: That shit is perfect, I couldn't agree more!

oh ev :banghead: . see i dont regret this one bit at all. im happy i got this over a vz.yes i love vz maloo's but this is soooo much nicer. nicer inside, better motor, smooth to drive and IMO the ve maloo makes the other models seem dated.
and its not like i bought this car to please a few people on the net.i got it cos i love it. and it seems all vz owners are polesmokers anyway.meh and anyway i dont keep cars as we know so at least i can say ive owned one of these

I'd have trouble picking a falcon ute over a VE. Similar performance, better looks, v8 goodness. A++

yeah they are pretty roomy behind the seats.where i did notice when i took out a vz r8 maloo it was a bit more cramped. poison ivy is a mad color.awesome at night too.
