lol 355s are quite good, but you need a better manifold than standard.
you will struggle to get more them 200rwkw with the bananas even with a 355.
with a better manifold, 300rwkw is the go with a big enough cam and comp to suit.
or theres tuffer whos running low 10s in a VS with a 355 and STOWLN also.
add some boost and theres 9s like aarons VL, even using the standard intake lol

those starr manifolds i found out are just stock manifolds with the elbow cut off and a bigger one and bigger throttle body fitted... get decent power too i hear, so stock manifolds work well enough for me. im not going to be running 10s man

the standard manifold with forced induction actually isn't bad.
its been proven to make decent power
just in n/a its no good above 200rwkw.

I remember when i was looking at buying EBOOST AU it was only making like 210rwkw with 347,edelbrock manifold and twin exhaust.

Manifolds, throttle bodies and heads will flow shitloads more in a boosted application.

Bunch of bananas is fine if you have boost - the money spent on a better manifold is better spent on facilitating more boost and/or fuel.

Boost raises the level a fair bit to where you need to worry about that stuff, plus there are cheaper ways of doing heads and manifold.

Why not raise the boost, get a decent tune, throw an LSD/minispool/lokka in and have some fun?

getting retuned on the 16th.. same tuner who tuned it with the last motor...

out of curiosity i asked if he still had the files for the last tune and see what it made...

with a vn stock motor with a cam (unsure what cam) it made 245kw@ wheels... :D

so now it has a 185 motor not 165, but it has stock cam in it, will be interesting to see what it makes...

oh btw, it isnt 4psi like i thought, it turns out ive never really thrashed it enough to see what boost it makes.... 7.5 psi :D ive never watched the boost gauge while on the limiter, and im told it has a 6k limiter lol

i dont remember haha, either way the 193 isnt the most accurate, as i said it was me using the dyno, me driving the car on the dyno, i did 2 runs, neither made over 100kw, the last one i didnt even go flat but i hit the limiter... i dont know how to use a dyno, ill know my before and after power figures on the 16th guys, the 193 i made was just cos i was doing emissions as part of my tafe course

picked up my roady last night, its in my name as of today, and paid rego...

did a bit of a install over the weekend big thanks to amon(scotty) for doin 99% of the work lol

kenwood head unit, audison monoblock amp, and 2 polk subs in a nice big fat box... amp is mounted to a fake side panel on the drivers side, just gotta make something up to cover where the spare wheel is meant to sit, then refit some more boot carpet in better condition that mine, and it will look alot neater...

Then i fitted stock 15" vn ss wheels to it, and it improved the ride an absolute shit load, no longer twitches down the road pulling on every uneven surface..

and finally over the last few days, ive had problems with the battery light coming on, at first i thought it was the belt slipping or something, but turns out the reg was stuffed so scotty hooked us up again with a new reg and its been sweet since...
so not much to report, till next friday when she gets retuned i guess.... oh ps, 3rd gear in the dry with 3.08 diff = lots of smoke from 1 wheel hahaha

but didnt the rex die a nasty death before you had a chance to kill the box?

generally i dont like vn's, but when its copping a supercharged 8, and near as damn 240kw atw id own it for sure lol. thats probably double what my stock 5.0 has :banghead:

Nice man, should be a bit of fun. Although a Lokka would be good (which I can do cheap as well as the slicks / shameless self promotion!), the inner wog in me says spool - it just seems right in a VN :P

Think you'll shoot for more power?
