I think you misunderstand - I hate all cars, some just a lot more than others. There is no car on earth that doesn't leak, break, make strange noises or generally be an expensive pain in the ass, no matter how much you spend. There is no point me changing manufacturers and basically throwing away all of the product knowledge I have gained. Any move I make will be out of the automotive industry for good.
As I said, I'm a mechanic. Have been for more than 10 years, I've worked on a million different cars from a hundred different makes. To figure out which is the 'best' car of all you'd need to decide what criteria you are going to use to base that decision upon. E-series are piss easy to work on, have an amazing level of parts interchangability, are cheap and highly 'modifiable' (If that's even a word), so they are my preference.
If you've spent any time in a VE engine bay you'll find that under the big plastic covers they look like crap and are crap to work on, and there is nowhere to put your tools or the bolts and miscellaneous crap you remove while you work.
Besides all that, the most important passive safety aspect of any vehicle is the ability to see other traffic and road hazards, and the VE is like peering out of a letterbox. While someone has got their hand through the slot and is poking you in the eye with their fingers. Fail. I just can't get past that. FG have a 5 star crash rating and yet their pillars are nowhere near as big - go figure.
Also: Why has the white lettering been rubbed off your brake calipers? And where is the little dot that makes up the 'hole' in the 'A' in Maloo? I love holden build quality.

Only thing thats annoying....as you said....visibility is not good....esp for us short people
Cant wait for a ride when its not busy on the road and not at night.

to do those things to it would it be around 5 or 6g's??
Rollin wrote:You should take it to the drags and do a few runs with and without the hard cover - I'd be very interested to see which setup is quicker. You'd prob get better traction off the line with the hard cover, but the extra weight might cost you some time....I don't know which setup would be more efficient aerodynamically...
I saw an episode of mythbusters where they compared the fuel consumption of two F150s, one with tailgate up, one down, and no hardcover on either, the one with the tailgate up actually had better fuel consumption due to the air in the tray 'tumbling' and making the air flow over the tray rather than getting 'caught' on the tailgate.

My mates Maloo runs a 6.2l with mass cam, CAI, full exhaust with tune and that's got a healthy 310rwkw.
