92EBFAIRMONT, does your parents AU have IRS suspension? that could explain why it doesn't brake traction... doesn't explain why your dad couldn't get it side ways in the wet though.
Once you've done a bit of driving in your EB, you'll realize that unless you have a real good set of tyres on it (and by good I mean less than 15,000km's old, and a good type from a good brand) you will loose traction in the wet some times and even in the dry if the road is shit enough...and you'll never get traction in the wet with a set of legal Bridgestone RE92's, even worse if they are bald.
I've seen old people loop their E-series falcons in the wet on a certain round-a-bout near me, as soon as you just touch the throttle towards the exit of the round-a-bout, the car goes side ways.... there are also certain hills where my car wont even move if I have to come to a complete stop in the wet.
So as everyone else has said, get some experience driving before you tell us how to drive...
And to the OP, I reckon its your flames making you look more like a hoon... most old people will assume you are a hoon just because of the flames. Like everyone else has said, drive calmly in your own street and a few streets around your's. Your car is probably attracting a lot of attention already.
