To get it engineered it has to pass emmision's and his head is exactly like the nizpro engine that made over 1000hp on engine dyno as he used same head porter and it has bigger cams, so its going to need a tune to pass it and then u have exhaust noise so may need another muffler or what not.

Engine needs to be lowered some how as cannot have engine exposed period so need to get another bonnet and respray it and drop engine somehow???

Needs standard steering wheel as it came factory with airbag so that's a big no no

Have to double check brake rotor and calipers if there ADR approved, and if they came of another production Aussie car then its no problem

This thing needs alot of work to get it registered and engineered by the book

If it were me i would wire in BA/BF ecu and get it tuned...............

Get door molds, original xr front bar with lip and side skirts and get them painted and put on, as i prefer the orignal look..................

Lol Obviously this car is not for you at all if you prefer orignal. Personally its not for me aswell,I would rather buy something like tufed6 over something like this but in saying that 20k is still damn cheap for this thing! Wouldnt even bother selling it if i was the owner.

E-series arent particularly popular, so that cuts down potential buyers. Potential buyers that are then prepared to pay for an extensively modified one is a small percentage of the original figure.

1% of 1% = ?

What's with everyone ripping this car?
There is a lot of people on this forum who have spent well over $20k on an e-series that is still just a fast unreliable/unsafe drive line in a shitbox looking shell.
Now you have an awesome eye catching not to mention fast as shit el for that same price and use bitch about a front bar. Yeah it's deferent, the dash is ugly as sin but if you got 20k around to buy it what's a couple of hundred/thousand to fix that small stuff??
Hell put a standard driveline through it in your shed on the weekend and get it registered, then change it back???? WOW hard?
The car in my eyes looks fantastic, even if there is a few bits that could be changed at least there is another car that finally gives e-series a good name and stands out from the rest!
I say whoever has the money to buy this will probably not regret it even if they loose money on it. I know I'd buy it.
People still try flogg off EB XRs for 10k with 200,000ks for **** sake!
Everyone knows it. Most people love it.
Like Paris Hilton, What did she ever to for people?
Don't deny it. Don't try cover it up, everyone would own this car if they could.

I would own the car as well but to get it to what i want it will cost 10k on top of the purchase price..................

If anyone buys it as is and has a accident there is no such thing as insurance cover as it's not engineered and is a MAJOR LIABILITY, unless ur happy to pay off the debt of hitting another car and pay for it for the next 10yrs of ur life.................... I know this as it happened to my mates uncle

That's bullshit. Plenty of insurance companies have paid out on unroadworthy cars. Your not going to buy it so we don't need to hear your justifications for not buying it anyway.

Your dreaming an insurance company would pay him out or cover another car when that engine is not engineered but can get away with wheels, suspension, interior if it's listed on the policy.

My insurance policy states in black & white i'm covered for flood. Everything except paths, retaining walls and tennis courts. People need to read the product disclosure statements before signing up. Think some lessons have been learnt the hard way.

Back on the JETXR topic.. Nice car. But for $20k+ i think i'd rather an ELGT.

I'm going out on a limb here and betting in 5-10 years time an ELGT will still be worth the same coin and probably more than it was purchased for now. Could be driven and enjoyed/admired daily.
This JETXR will be twice as fast but be full of problems and worth bugger all eventually. But if it's kicks you want and some wow factor this is a good buy.

I'm a negative nancy today..

BAH... wrong.....

The QLD floods arent covered because you cant buy flood home insurance in brisbane as a result of the floods in the 70s... Hence why housing
prices were cheaper.... Its like people getting a good deal because they live near a subway and have trains constantly cruising by then
complaining about the noise after they move in.....

As for insurance companies blah blah blah you arent one so why do you keep giving advice on their behalf? Like has been said you dont
want to buy it fine but move on and stop bad mouthing the car.... It probably hasnt sold because in been in various different forms over
the years and is constantly having work.... As you said building a decent car takes time...

Most transactions are undertaken with the pretense "buyer beware"...

as far as insurance goes- i work on insured cars all day and very very often most of the cars have shagged tyres or cracked windscreen or modified etc etc.
insurance still pays them out. some cheap crap insurance companies are hard to get money out thou.

as far as the car- yes its nice etc but $20k+ for a e series? i saw some pics of it and for a car thats had $100k + spent on it, its not that good.
crap fake braided hoses, holes cear as **** all in the eng bay that wernt welded. that interior is gay (dash, gauges etc), those seats looked nice till it had jet xr put on them. they look like ebay seat covers.

i guess ill get flamed saying that but at the end of the day its an e series and they arnt worth shit.

I know of two autos that have been purchased in the last 12 months for under $20k.
Private sales off older original owners. Bargains are out there, just got to be in the right place i guess.
