Inspired by the "Rear-Mount" turbo, I starting thinking of alternative ways to compress air and get it into the engine. What I came up with was something entirely unconventional, heavier than it has to be, but good for instant boost, WTF factor, and weight distribution (In the case of RWD drag cars).
Basically an supercharger, battery system, motors, etc, mounted in the boot. Ideally in a common frame for quick removal if you need to go somewhere.
The batteries would be charged by the vehicles alternator when not in use, and may be connected in series when being used, so you can use less amperage for the same power output (has heat and wiring advantages). I should mention that a REAL blower like an M90 would be used, and the motors will sure as hell draw more than 30 amps (try somewhere between 500 and 900).
Thoughts?
