Speeding Fine FTL

Postby mike1989 » March 12th, 2008, 10:32 pm

Yes, today got my first fine :)

91ks in a 60 zone but he did me for 78 instead coz it was my first offence

220 bucks and 3 demerit points...

Wondering, how long does it take usually for the big police envelope to arrive in the mail :P trying to keep this one away from the parents :P

Also, I sped for about 3 seconds while overtaking a car :P Would like to hear stories of other ppls experiences of speeding fines and how u got done, how fast u were going etc etc.

Cheers, Mike

+1
I have zero sympathy for people who get done speeding. There is a time and place. Public roads are not that place.

When I had the Pulsat ET Turbo I was clocked doing 91km  (so they told me) in a 60 zone, when I look back I honestly reckon I did not go that fast.

Been through that same stretch of road a number of times and there is no way I did 91km/h I mean that is fast for that section. I was still young and did'nt know all the facts. :|

It was downhill and cops were odscured behind trees so was wondering NOW whether that was all legal!?!?

Lost licence for a month, $125 fine and 3 demerit points. Bout ten years ago. What do you do? I know dont speed anyway, but still.

I got nothing as yet... 4+ years of driving but I'd say most of my reckless driving has been as carefully planned as it has been reckless if you know what I mean.

When I was on my P's I would rock up to Industrial estates and pull out the LPG mixer ring, ready to be a warrior and sht then I'd hear a bush move and tell everyone to get back in the car so we could boot coz I thought the cops were spying on me.

It worked out good though, the cops never jumped out of the bushes because I didn't do a skid ey :?

Also, I know of a few people who've wiggled outta losing their licenses by ditching and dumping points on relatives and unsuspecting foreign friends. Dirty kents. You do the crime YOU do the time :P

its illegal but i justify it as ok... aha i know that sounds a bit crazy but think about it.. parliament has the ability to make a law on anything they want. i study law and should the government so decide it would be legally, albeit not socially, acceptably to create a law allowing for the killing of all babies with say blue eyes for example. How does this relate to my speeding? Just because something is legally enforceable does not mean that it is socially correct. For me, going 100 over the anzac bridge with no traffic is acceptable - i was in control, knew my car/road, if something did go wrong it was only me to go anyway.

i dont speed in those 60km/h streets with a million driveways, bumps, and trees

this is what i sped on: http://www.top-city-photos.com/images/A ... Bridge.JPG

without traffic/pedestrians i dont see the big deal. Its pretty much just a big 4 lane each way highway, similar to the one up to newcastle which you can go over 100 with traffic.

First of all, I don't think i came here asking for sympathy, was just asking questions about what happens now after getting the fine etc etc, secondly I admitted doing something wrong and didn't even bother trying to make excuses so I don't really know what you're jumping down my throat about tiga_EL but comments like "suck shit" aren't really needed and just make you look like a dumbass who can't form a proper sentence.

I looked up about that official warning thing coz it was my first offence but sposed to be under 10ks over the limit to be considered for the warning, and i was 18 over :P

72 in a 60 zone about 4 years ago. 2 lanes, no-one around, been there 11ty billion times, wasn't trying to go fast, just didn't brake down a slight decline (BTR). It was also just before an 80 zone.

Annoying coz there's been situations where I've thought "I shouldn't have done that", and if I had've been done I wouldn't have minded coz it would've been my own dumbarse fault.
