Why E-Series is the Best :D

Postby G3R3N » June 27th, 2008, 11:45 pm

So this is it

We all have a certain amount of admiration in the E-Series.
But They have problems.
Very annoying pronlems. But when they work, they're the best

The way the BTR 2nd pulls in the greasy weather.
They are the mintest looking boxcars.
The built engines are cracking 500rwkw, but E-Series are yet to be taken seriously and more and more, they are being paid attention to. So there will be 1000rwkw EAs

So do tell us why you think E-Series is the best

:D

I think I recognised Gozza's car in that video somewhere. :?

Anyway to answer the question... They are cheap! That's what it comes down to. In the end I'm only as faithful as my options. When a better deal comes along I'm out! and that day is fast approaching with the price drop of BA/BF XR6Ts and Typhoons.

lol...

I havent paid more than $2k for an e-series car yet, thats why i like them! First one lasted me 3.5 years and i got my money back at the end which is rare!

Ive had numerous new cars, they lose their charm and novelty. Theres nothin like booting about in an e-series wondering whats going to break next, sieze, leak or overheat. It brings a fresh challenge to usually mundane everyday commuting!

E-Series look better than AU's, you can put all the good shit from an AU into one, and most importantly, as everyone else has said, cheap!

wen u weigh up the costs of buildin a strong decent V8/6 engine as compared to a rotary....

ull get an RX3 into the 10.1 barrier for under 10grand

thats cheap performance

I thought my EA was pretty reliable... only broke a few minor parts but it hasnt had $1000 spent on it, or even $500 and ive owned it for 14 years now... few things like water pump, uni joint, an engine mount came loose once... its done 260,000k's and been reliable all the way. not sure why everyone else thinks they are soo shit

I like the e-series because they're cheap, there's heaps of interchangeability of parts between different models, and you can walk down to any wrecker and usually find the parts you need. For a design that's about 20 years old, they still look quite good too.

But they certainly aren't short of problems. I snapped the plastic rope in my electric aerial a couple of days ago. After fitting new rear tyres, all of a sudden it pulls to the right. I had a wheel alignment mid last year and haven't hit any kerbs or large objects since, and the tyre wear on the front is still even. The amount of squeaks and rattles my car has are ridiculous. My rear main is just about the only place that my engine DOESN'T leak. But despite all this I still enjoy driving it. I've had a few people comment on how well it goes for an EA. The T5 actually lets me use the power of the car.

20b twin turbo e-series... Hmm... Dont worry, i thought about it for a bit. A cheap rolled cosmo came up for sale 3-4 years ago.
It was either buy a house OR..., house deposit + ed futura + cosmo = god knows what would have happened??
I think im glad i chose the house option, i still wonder what could have been tho.

It should have been some kind of success with the right gearbox.
A standard 20b Cosmo weighs about 1600kg, does a low 14sec pass, 0-100 in 6secs?
Then there is the fun of some mods like a crazy 8,000rpm stall, huge turbo etc... etc... One day maybe.

1. They sport the blue oval badge.
2. With the right aftermarket items, TOUGH
3. Perfect first car, when you dont have the money for a later car.
4. Did I mention TOUGH? :?
5. I wouldnt go so as far to say E-series are the best, but Id love a s/c e-series sitting next to my family car in the future.

The EA was judged to be just as good looking as a BMW and you could probally park most BMW's under the rear bar of a towpack equipped EA.

I actually think that the EA-ED is one of the toughest shapes the falcon has came in.

I'm guessing because #melbourne is full of dumbshits?

If you don't like it, seriously, go. I've said it a lot of times now, this forum is not the only Ford or E-Series forum out there now, OeC and vicfords will cater for you.

I like the 'analness' of this site.

If you pulled the same shit on AFF as you do here, you'll have AFF ringing the cops on you.

[edit] You almost did have AFF calling the cops on you even though you're not even a member there.....
