Rob's AU Falcon Forte | |||||||||||||||||
Rob says: Here is my Ford Falcon. It is a 1999 AU Series 1 Forte fitted with a FoMoCo Police Package & 175kw Windsor V8. As you probably realise that this is a rare set up. Some of the features of the Police Package is sports suspension, twin airbags, A.B.S., L.S.D., high capacity cooling system, heavy duty coolant (at the time of production for the climate in Canberra), interior light 'kill' switch, calibrated speedometer with a top speed of 240 kp/h (compared with 220 kp/h for other models except XR series). My Forte started it's life with the Federal Police in Melbourne after it's birth in September 1999. I bought it last year through a car yard. It had grotesk four spoke CSA mags & the standard AU 'comb' grille. The dealer replaced the grille with an XLS one & the mags with standard rims. I have fitted to my Forte 2 1/2 exhaust system with a sports muffler & a hot dog to replace the resonator. It has pacemaker headers with straight through cats to give it a nice note. A wider XR8 air intake snorkle replaces the narrow standard V8 item & a K & N high flow air cleaner replaces the standard item. The standard rims are to be painted a 'steel' colour with AU centre caps as it did when it rolled off the assembly line in Broadmeadows in 1999. I have colour coded the door bumpers & added red pin striping in them. The front & rear bumpers have received the red pin stiping treatment as well. I am waiting for C2R (Concept to Reality) in Melbourne to produce a custom grille similar to the Havoc style. I intend to keep it as a bit of a sleeper. |

John's EF Falcon GLi | |||||||||||||||||
John says: This is my EF II Falcon GLi, was first purchased 2nd hand with 107,000kms on the clock, no special features came with the vehicle, except the standard stuff you would expect from a GLi. The car was in great condition and has had no problems with it since purchase. So far I've added a few touches to the interior of the car, but nothing major, new mp3 headunit, 6.5" splits and Kenwood rears is all I've done to the stereo. Black seat covers give the interior a different look and some nice floor mats add to the car's interior. On the outside I've put on AU 2 XR rims to give it a more sporty touch, but that's as far as I've been able to go due to insurance problems, soon to be fixed when i change insurance companies. After that i plan on lowering the car and doing some performance mods. |

Chris's XF Falcon 'S' Pack
Chris says: My Falcon is a 1984 Falcon 'S' Pack 4.1, 6 cyl which I have owned since 1990. It has the usual features of the time, including air, power steering, etc, but I have gone one step further and added a Supercharger to the equation. This ups the Kw quite alot. For the techno buffs, it produces 155 kW at the rear wheels which is around 220 kW at the flywheel, or 300 HP. (I believe std kW was around 115 Kw). This makes it quite lively to drive, and its on gas as well, so cheap to run. These power figures are all at 3,700 rpm. I could get more power I reckon, but reliability then becomes an issue. The dyno registered 6,400 Newtons of force, which I am told is very high. The super charger pumps around 8 lbs of boost at 3,500 rpm, and is intercooled. I use the car everyday, and it has clocked up around 350,000 kms (150,000 of them supercharged), and I cant imagine that I'll sell it any time soon. Its a great tow vehicle, and drags out 2.2 ton boat with ease. Apart from the super charging, and lowering, the car is pretty much (and looks) standard. I have driven lots of cars in my time, but this one seems to be the one I like the most. |

Alan's EB II Falcon S | |||||||||||||||||
Alan says: My name is Alan and I have been a long time Ford man and have owned several Falcons and other members of the Ford Family. My current car is a 1993 Series II EB "S" sedan. The Beast, as she is known, is factory standard with 4.0 ltr 4spd auto, factory mags, bootlid spoiler, etc. She also is dual fuel. I purchased her in late March this year on a bit of a whim. I was just looking for something (Falcon) to drive and took her and an EF for a test drive. The EB was streets ahead of the EF in style and condition. She had only 144,000 kms on the clock and showed it, as she is in excellent condition. I plan to make some tasteful mods such as a CD system and woodgrain dash inserts (do you know who markets a really good kit?) and a decent alarm system. |

Shane Lee's XT Fairmont

Shane Lee says: We live in Malta (Europe) and we own a 1968 Ford XT Fairmont. It's rather hard to find parts for it, we always need to send overseas for any kind of part, even for simple stuff. We'd like to keep it in original condition so we have to order parts from Australia, the place we use is a shop called Mayday Automotive Group. At the moment the car isn't working too well because we need to buy the neutral automatic switch. I wonder if you could help with some simple contacts for parts etc... If it's possible can you give us the e-mail, website and telephone number? Thanks a lot! |

Des' XC Falcon 500 | |||||||||||||||||
Hi, I'm Des. This is my first car, a 1978 XC Ford Falcon 500, my mates & I call him Frank. In its 5 years in our family, it's had a long history of towing other cars through the mountains & never missed a beat. Last year dad & I put a reconditioned motor & C4 Tbar auto, instead of the 3 speed column Borg Warner. Running gear is pretty much stock apart from the full flow extractors & exhaust system. When we first bought it, it had a cream vinyl roof & GS grill as seen in on of the pictures, but now Fairmont Grill & overriders replace the standard 500 look & the vinyl abolished & roof now painted gloss black but still needs another coat. Hehe NO the Franks not for sale any more. I was nearly conned into straight swapping it with a 1987 Magna but thank god I didn’t. It's had a bad run with mum the last couple of years when she ran it off the road but the positive outcome was a fully overhauled suspension & lowered front. A set of EF Futura alloys now pretty-up the beast. I reckon it’s the last of the real durable falcons ever made, with the chrome bumper bars, obese size & fuel consumption! Frank now has 8 inch subs in the back parcel shelf & a boost equaliser, just need a decent CD player head unit to suit. Future plans may be a complete respray & new carpet with a holley carby or gas… maybe even a turbo ;) but budget is very limited at the moment, especially after the $385 burnout ticket!!! |

Clinton's XF Falcon sedan
Clinton says: My car is pretty much just an ordinary XF Falcon, with very few extras. I have owned my XF for 2 years now and I haven't had any problems with it at all. XF's are a very reliable car, the only problem is the door handles, they are just crap and are always breaking, but they are very easy and cheap to fix. Since I have owned it I have added spot lights, stone flectors, mags and a sound system. This is my first car, it was given to me by my sister (THANKS SIS). |

Allen's XF Fairmont Ghia sedan

Allen
says: XF Fairmont Ghia 1987, custom paint dark ocean blue with wild violet
purple pearl, custom blue trim inluding roof lining, dash, XR headlights,
FR18's, injected El V8, with a 4spd top loader, custom pipes in exhaust
to hold up to 500 hp , battery in boot custom wiring harnes with most
of wiring hidden under guards, 28 splines axles with 3.08 mini spool,
lowered on all round king springs with Pedders shocks, Autometer gauges.
I have owned the car for almost 5 years and just started out with a set of Tickfords, then came the respray. A year later car was stolen and was found with no rims so I went out and bought as a set of FR18's from there I decided I wanted to turbo-charge the Six but found a great deal on a motor and box, so I decided to go EFI V8. After pulling out da six I gave the whole car a respray inside out. Took approx 3 months to paint a mig up all access holes in the engine bay. Friend and I did the entire conversion minus wiring and took approx 4 months to build. The car was orginally set up with the Electronic 4 spd auto but after blowing 2nd I decided it was time to go manual. In came the 4spd top loader which we all know has a well known reputation to hold some punishment. After only having the box in the car a week I decided to rip a burnout one nite at a mates house just 2 test da box out. When I do a burnout I like to do them big, after doin the burnout the exhaust had been glowing red and the clutch hydrualic line which is made out of rubber decided to melt and fluid leeked onto the exhauat leaving the car to catch on fire, having no fire extinguisher the engine bay was well lit lucky there was a garden hose which turned out the fire. Out came the engine and box again and the bay was painted once again. Car is all finished once again, I had bought a under bonnet blower though I had never put it in as I'm just bored of the car. It runs like a dream but now its up 4 sale. |

Rune's XF Falcon 'S' Pack sedan
Rune says: Late '86. Believe it's the 97 Kw UL Engine. I have had it for 1 year now. My cousin used to own it, but she sold it to me for $3000. Within the last year everything has gone wrong with this car. When first acquired by my cousin 1 year ago, the carby-fuel-thingy was held on to the carby by a plastic-wire-tightener, so we got 2 K's to the litre! The carby was redone by local mechanic in Parramatta. Now the problem was the idle, we couldn't adjust it properly, so the car would die on us all the time. We then swapped engines, with a newer, "refurbished" one... still idling problems though! On a trip to Melbourne the fuel pump gave up, and gas was gushing out over the hot engine. Then the front left wheel bearing gave up, which also killed the tyre. Then the transmission ran out of oil, as the mechanic who swapped engines forgot to put in the seal between the gearbox and the engine! So uptil now the car has cost us a fortune ! - now I just hope it'll hold for a few more years! |
